Well what an exciting weekend I had. Daniel Donaldson Todd brought the TDCI championships to Hartlepool in North East England. The venue was the new #Manoraacademy school which has only recently opened. It had excellent facilities and tiered seating so the audience could see all the performers. Dance schools travelled for Scotland Liverpool and Doncaster to attend with local dancers. The junior championship was won by a very talented young man Harrison Vaughan. Second wearing a beautiful tutu (not mine) was Matilda Jackson from Grangemouth Scotland. Third place went to Grace O’Connor. A hard won achievement from 58 Dancers.

The senior ballet championship had a few dancers not competing as it was early morning. However I was lucky enough to watch the fabulous talent, and I must admit I got goosebumps, when I watched Harry Smallman dance.

I have seen this young man on #DanceMumsUK growing up at the Jennifer Ellison Studios  #jellistudios and it was a joy to watch Harry perform and put all the emotion into the dance.  A very well deserved first place, qualifying for the champion of Champions at Blackpool and in addition a scholarship prize.

I look forward to this championship returning to Hartlepool next year and have offered to sponsor a trophy for the event.
